If you've the financial means and don't want your children to attend
the Spanish state education, you can send them to a fee-paying international school. This allows your children to continue
following the UK education system, ultimately taking British
examinations at the end of their schooling.
International and private schools usually teach bilingual lessons, both
Spanish and English. There is much competition for places so you should
apply as soon as possible.

There are many good international schools, which tend to be
bilingual, some with less emphasis on the Spanish language than others.
Each school operates a different timetable for teaching in English
or Spanish. Some may teach most classes in English, with one or two
hours a day being taught in Spanish. Others may teach in English in the
morning and Spanish in the afternoon. These schools are also very
popular with Spanish parents who want their children to learn English to
native level.
Some international schools are more 'international' than others with
pupils from a wide range of countries. The age range for international
schools depends on the size of the school. Some include pre-school to
sixth form, that is 3 years old to 18 years, whereas other may only be
for children aged 3 to 7 years.
There are also Spanish private schools, where children are taught entirely in Spanish. Most of the other children in these classes will be Spanish. They follow the Spanish system and tend to be cheaper than the more British international schools.
There is much competition for places in private schools so you need to submit your your applications as early as possible. Most international schools have waiting lists. You will need to provide school reports, exam results and other records.
You should check whether the school belongs to an accredited
organization - most British schools belong to NABSS - National
Association of British Schools in Spain and standards
are monitored by British inspectors.
For pupils who have additional needs, eg special education needs due
to psychological, emotional or behavioural problems, there are special
education units. However, pupils are taught in special education units
or schools only when their needs cannot be met in a mainstream school.
